Insurance companies – Utah enacted Autism Insurance Reform in April of 2014, which will be in effect beginning January 2016. Many Utah insurance companies are currently working towards adding ABA Therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders as a PAID therapy!  Contact your insurance company and ask about their policies towards ABA Therapy and when services will be available for your child.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the process of systematically applying interventions based upon the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors to a meaningful degree, and to demonstrate that the interventions employed are responsible for the improvement in behavior. (Baer, Wolf & Risley, 1968; Sulzer-Azaroff & Mayer, 1991)

ABA Therapy

ABA Therapy can be used to increase, decrease, change, shape, or eliminate almost any behavior that can be observed. As a discipline, Behavior Analysts seek the improvement of socially significant behaviors. Socially significant behaviors include communication, social skills, academics, reading, and adaptive living skills such as gross and fine motor skills, toiling, dressing, eating, personal self-care, domestic skills, and work skills.

Discrete Trial Training (DTT)

Discrete Trial Training (DTT) falls under the ABA umbrella of science as the primary teaching strategy. DTT is a method of teaching in simplified and structured steps. Instead of teaching an entire skill in one go, the skill is broken down and “built-up” using discrete trials that teach each step one at a time.” Smith, T. (2001). Discrete Trial Training in the Treatment of Autism. Focus on Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities, 16, 86-92. DOI: 10.1177/108835760101600204

iBehave Therapy Group, will individualize ABA therapy sessions based on parental interview, assessments, and direct observation of the individual targeted for therapy.
